If you thought last year’s offseason was wild, this year makes it look tame. Who would’ve guessed that Aaron Rodgers is now in Pittsburgh, Russell Wilson is leading New York, and Davante Adams is teaming up with Puka Nacua in Los Angeles?
Frankly, I feel like half the league swapped jerseys overnight. With the NFL landscape flipped on its head, bettors like you and me are staring at a new playing field. From proven contenders like the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles to potential dark horses like the Detroit Lions, here are the best teams to bet on this season

Picking an outright winner for the Super Bowl is anything but straightforward, especially when a key injury or a late slump can turn a frontrunner into an afterthought. We’ve seen this last season in the Detroit Lions, who topped the NFC West with an impressive 15-2 (win-loss) card only to get blown out in the divisional round by the Washington Commanders. However, despite the whirlwind offseason, there are still a few teams that look primed to handle the grind of the upcoming season and compete for the Vince Lombardi Trophy.
Fresh off another deep playoff run and winning Super Bowl LIX, the Philadelphia Eagles head on to this season as the favorite to raise the Vince Lombardi Trophy. Depending on the football betting sites you’re on, the Eagles are lined at +660 to win Super Bowl LX and for plenty of reasons, but none bigger than the stability and firepower they bring on both sides of the floor. Quarterback Jalen Hurts remains the focal point of the Eagles offense while DeVonta Smith and A.J. Brown still remain one of the most dangerous receiving duos in the league. My only concern for the Eagles is whether they can stay healthy throughout the season, which has been a challenge for them in recent years.
The Buffalo Bills are another team you may want to bet on more this season. Of course, I might be a little biased here because I am a huge fan of their minority owners, Vince Carter and Tracy McGrady, but even without my fan bias, the system and talent of the Bills are made to win a lot of games. One thing I love about the Bills’ management is that they actually built something around star quarterback Josh Allen during the offseason by adding wideout Joshua Palmer and defensive end Joey Bosa. Should the Bills get much-needed production from their new acquisitions, they could finally have the balance to make a deep playoff run.

The Kansas City Chiefs were the favorites to win Super LIX, but things quickly fell apart in the first half of the championship game against the Eagles, where they found themselves scoreless at halftime. Still, with star quarterback Patrick Mahomes leading the charge, I like to think that the Chiefs are made up to win plenty of games this season. They topped the AFC East last season with a 15-2 slate and they are currently the favorites to win the AFC at +305. While anything can happen in this league, I am willing to wager a few units that the road to the Super Bowl in the AFC still runs through Kansas as long as their playmakers stay healthy and the offensive line holds up against the league’s top defenses.
If you are like me, who loves to chase value rather than ride the favorites, there are a few underdogs that could quietly sneak into contention and deliver for punters willing to take the risk.
The Baltimore Ravens always go under the radar simply because they play a grind-it-out style of football. But the thing is, their methodical and physical approach can be exactly what wins them a number of games this season. Quarterback Lamar Jackson remains the engine that drives the Ravens’ offense, although he’ll need consistent help from his offensive line to be effective. What intrigues me, though, is the suffocating defensive line of the Ravens, that were a menace last season. For context, the Ravens were second in the league last season for most sacks at 54.0. All things considered, the Ravens, which finished 12-5 last season, could easily surprise a lot of people this year, especially if they remain efficient defensively.
Like everyone else, I had the Detroit Lions making it into the NFC Championship last season. After all, they absolutely tore up the regular season, winning 15 of their 17 games. Unfortunately, their Super Bowl hopes came to a stop in the divisional round versus the Washington Commanders, wherein they found themselves bleeding for points. Still, I am having a hard time dismissing what they’ve accomplished in the regular season. Quarterback Jared Goff should enter this season in high spirits following an efficient season last year, while German wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown is still among the most reliable playmakers in the league. As long as they get consistent production from their pass rush and address the secondary lapses they made in the playoffs, the +1000 on the Lions to win the Super Bowl looks extremely juicy.
As you can see, the upcoming NFL season is shaping up to be a rollercoaster, and I wish I could tell you exactly which team will come out on top. However, that is part of the fun. While teams like the Philadelphia Eagles, Buffalo Bills, and the Kansas City Chiefs have the talent to dominate, you should never count out the Baltimore Ravens or Detroit Ravens, especially considering that they have the tools to make deep runs. Either way, we are in for an unpredictable season betting-wise. So, my advice to you is to always focus on the value to make the most out of your every wager.
