Deadspin's favorite idiot on the field, Jungle Bird, made an appearance at last night's Juventus-Everton friendly at AT&T Field in San Francisco. Much to the delight of everyone on the sidelines, Jungle Bird sent a decently struck penalty shot right at keeper Tim Howard, who made the save easily.
A lot of people think the man who calls himself Jungle Bird and wears a mohawked, Union Jacked knit cap and crashes sporting events for the purpose of cawing at the camera is crazy. He's not, we swear. He just wants to save the world.
Last year's U.S. Open trophy ceremony was improved with the appearance of a man squawking in front of the camera.
Back in June, we presented video of a man calling himself "Jungle Bird" who invaded Webb Simpson's U.S. Open trophy ceremony with a series of squawks. Jungle Bird showed up again today in Dublin, when he invaded the field to perform a ceremonial jig with a football.
When last we saw "Jungle Bird," he was caw-cawing his way through the trophy presentation at the U.S. Open. The deforestation activist has now made his way to Royal Lytham & St. Annes for the 2012
British Open Open Championship.
