The Cardinals Lost Their 17th Game
Photo credit: Mark J. Terrill/ [object Object] Yasiel Puig went 3-for-5 with a homer and Dodgers relievers pitched four shutout innings as Los Angeles downed St. Louis last night 8-4 at Chavez Ravine.
Michael Wacha fell to 2-4 on the season as the Cardinals hurler was unable to make it into the fifth inning after surrendering eight hits and six runs, two of them earned. Aledmys DĂaz committed three errors and Matt Carpenter added a fourth, bringing St. Louis to a major-league-leading 33 errors on the season.
The loss drops the Cardinals to 19-17 on the season, good for third place in the N.L. Central.
