The Sad Saga Of A College Football Player Who Didn't Understand How Twitter Works

Elon senior RB Jamal Shuman is frustrated. The Phoenix lost 48-28 Saturday to Wofford, and Shuman only factored in one play—a five-yard pass reception. So he did what anyone would do in that situation, and vented on Twitter.
He did this without understanding that his tweets were public. (He's since deleted the account.) Here's the succession of Mr. Verify Deez Nuts's breakdown and eventual realization of the trouble he was in—a bildungsroman, in 140-character chunks.

I cannot verify whether or not this is true, since Elon plays in FCS and you're probably just now learning Elon had a football team at all.

He's frustrated, and maybe he even has a point here. Also, were you aware Elon is ranked by US News & World Report as the #2 Regional University in the South?

Retweets are not endorsements, except when they are.

...

Concerned followers try to intervene and make Shuman aware of what he's doing.

Oh, goodness.

Meanwhile, his rant has gone viral, leading him to wonder why he's suddenly been retweeted 100+ times.

Realization hits.

That it is, Jamal, that it is.
