Valentin Paret-Peintre wins Tour de France Stage 16

Frenchman Valentin Paret-Peintre held off Ireland's Ben Healy to claim his first Tour de France stage win on Tuesday in Mont Ventoux.
Paret-Peintre crossed the line just ahead of Healy in Stage 16, a mountainous 171.5-kilometer trek that began in Montpellier. Colombia's Santiago Buitrago finished third.
Slovenia's Tadej Pogacar finished 43 seconds behind Paret-Peintre in fifth place to maintain the overall race leader's yellow jersey.
Pogacar, the three-time and defending race champion, now leads Denmark's Jonas Vingegaard by four minutes and 15 seconds. Germany's Florian Lipowitz is in third, more than nine minutes off the pace.
Stage 17 on Wednesday is a flat, 160.4-kilometer ride from Bollene to Valence. The 21-stage competition finishes in Paris on Sunday.
