Mandatory Credit: Orlando Ramirez-USA TODAY Sports Makenzy Doniak scored the tying goal in the second half to help the host San Diego Wave play Orlando to a 1-1 tie on Friday night to halt the Pride's NWSL-record eight-game winning streak.
Despite Doniak's goal in the 62nd minute, the Wave (3-4-4, 13 points) are winless in their last four matches (0-1-3).
Julie Doyle scored in the 36th minute for Orlando (8-0-4, 28 points), which resides in first place by three points over the idle Kansas City Current.
Orlando took the lead on a first-half counterattack in which Barbra Banda gained possession around midfield and made a run down the right flank.
Banda was to the right of the net when she sent a cross toward the center of the box as Doyle was charging forward. The ball was slightly behind Doyle but she lifted her lower right leg back and knocked a shot past Wave goalkeeper Kailen Sheridan for her second goal of the campaign.
San Diego tied the score after Maria Sanchez sent a cross toward the net. Orlando goalie Anna Moorhouse knocked the ball away with her right hand but it went directly to Doniak, who kicked the ball into the net for her third goal of the season.
Sheridan had five saves and Morehouse stopped four.
Wave star Alex Morgan was subbed out in the 56th minute while playing in just her second NWSL match since injuring an ankle on April 19 in a 1-0 loss to Orlando. Morgan doesn't have a goal in six matches for San Diego this season.
Orlando star Marta -- the Brazilian legend -- entered at the outset of the second half. She made a long run down the left side in the 60th minute but her left-footed shot was stopped by Sheridan.
