Women's NCAA Spokane 1 roundup: No. 2 NC State sets record in win over Michigan State

Azizha James pumped in six 3-pointers Monday and scored a game-high 26 points as second-seeded North Carolina State stomped seventh-seeded Michigan State 83-49 in a second-round matchup of the NCAA Women's Tournament in Raleigh, N.C.
The Wolfpack set the NCAA tournament program-record for shots from 3-point range with 15. Saniya Rivers just missed a triple double with 17 points, 11 assists and eight rebounds, while Madison Hayes added 17 points and nine rebounds. Zamareya Jones came off the bench to net 12 points in just 12 minutes.
The Wolfpack (28-6) established a 27-9 first quarter lead and never looked back. They canned 50 percent of their shots from the field, controlled the boards 44-29 and scored 23 points on the fast break.
Grace VanSlooten scored 15 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for the Spartans (22-10), which made just 19 of 58 shots from the floor and made only 4 of 15 3-point attempts.
The Wolfpack will meet LSU or Florida State on Friday in the Sweet 16.
