Yanks plan to activate DH Giancarlo Stanton (hamstring) on Monday

New York Yankees slugger Giancarlo Stanton is expected to be activated off the injured list on Monday, manager Aaron Boone told reporters on Friday.
Stanton was placed on the 10-day IL on June 23 with a strained left hamstring after injuring himself rounding third base during the Yankees' 8-3 home win over the Atlanta Braves the previous night.
The designated hitter has not been assigned any rehab games, and Boone said the team will monitor Stanton over the weekend to make sure the former MVP is healthy enough to return.
"He's pretty much done everything he needs to do," Boone said. "Now it's about building a little bit of volume."
Stanton, 34, was batting .246 with 18 home runs and 45 RBIs in 69 games before his ninth trip to the IL in seven seasons with New York.
Entering Friday's three-game series opener against the Red Sox in Boston, the Yankees have gone 8-17 while hitting .235 since Stanton's latest injury. They trailed the first-place Baltimore Orioles by two games in the American League East.
New York opens a three-game road series on Monday against the Philadelphia Phillies, who entered Friday with the major leagues' best record (64-38).
