Herm Edwards Is Optimistic, Stupid
The coins have been flipped and the NFL draft has it's official order. Atlanta was the big winner, winding up with the third overall pick, but that's not how Herm Edwards sees it. After Atlanta assured their spot immediately by winning the first flip, Herm seemed pretty cool with it.
"I didn't want a chance to flip," Edwards said. "I wanted to be five. That was a good number for us. Five is good. I just felt all along we were going to be five. I thought Atlanta would win the coin toss."
Shit, everybody knows the third pick is haunted. Akili Smith? Joey Harrington? You don't want any of that nonsense, Herm. Now he can draft the same mediocre guy he's targeted for even less money.
