What's Creepier Than A Draft Combine? How About A Junior High Draft Combine?
You know what youth football has always been missing? Creepy draft combines! Honestly, for too long we have not had the opportunity to nail down and discover the top physical specimens at the age of 12. But worry not!
Yep, seriously: In Michigan they're having a junior high football combine. Whole world's comin' to an end, Mal.
Organizer Mike Wynn, an area referee, said no schools are involved. "We're going to stop the controversy, no coaches or schools are allowed," he said. "Sports is the hook, but it's more of an educational job fair. We're going to talk to the kids and their parents about core classes to take in high school, about college scholarships and things like MHSAA rules or if they want to go into coaching or to become an official. "It's like at the NFL combine, where they have interviews and educational classes. We want to mentor." The original application spoke of "helping schools identify the best talent from Pop Warner, Think Detroit PAL and the Eastern Suburban League."
We don't know what could possibly go wrong.
