I don't know much (read: anything) about Patrick Roy's son, but I do believe he's the crazy person in goalie pads fighting for his life for the right to fight.
He doesn't even care if the other goalie wants in on it, he forces the action on him because that's what competitors do! Seriously, fighting must be like crack to this kid.
Thanks to Kurtenblog for the heads up.

sans blague?!
The elder Roy must be the worst hockey dad ever.
I mean, seriously, all the kid ever wanted to do was be a goon, and his dad made him play goalie. Lame.
I was surprised he didn't take a swing at the official.
Moron. He forgot to point over the other goalie's shoulder to distract him before punching him repeatedly in the back of the head. Do they simply not have cartoons in the Roy household?
The white goalie knew Roy wouldn't hit him because he was in the crease.
What was the other goalie looking at?! He didn't even react until le petite Roy had already started pummeling him!
Patrick Roy fought, but he wouldn't fight someone that wouldn't fight back...couldn't see his reaction from the bench, though...(too low res)
The refs told him not to fight, but he couldn't hear him because he had Cracker Jack decoder rings in his ears.
Hi. Totally off-topic, but this needs to be shared.
ESPN's Feature Comment at the moment:
"Mississippi Sate looks good."
I didn't misspell that.
Oh, Canada.
@OchentaYcinco:
The interns are having their fun to, looks like...nothing says funny like a Mississippi fan who can't spell. It's so unexpected.
@lisa:
fun TOO, just as funny as a UT grad who can't spell
You gotta FIGHT... For your RIGHT...to fight?
I like hockey fights as much as the next guy, but I prefer them when both guys are willing participants. This fucktard should be banned for the season for that, what a jackass.
I think my favorite part is where the refs are just writing down names/numbers. That and the take down the ref does on the guy in white trying to help his goalie.
Where's Mike Vernon's kid when you need him?
Good thing the ref stopped the other guy from helping his goalie. Wouldn't want to stop a senseless beating or anything.
That was the most incredible video I have ever seen in my life.
it's still no STB.
nothing will EVER be STB.
Never seen a beatdown like that in my hockey memory.
And, come on, that white goalie was fine; the worst he got were shots to the neck/back.
/Khia?
This is why I don't go to Canada. Too violent.
Ohio is in the news again...this was found in the guy's mobile home
PATASKALA, Ohio - Police say a central Ohio drug bust included more than $3 million in cash and more than a ton of marijuana.
Did the other goalie think playing dead was going to work?
Wow, what a beautiful game.
@TheWrathofQBEagles: Which fucktard? The psycho red goalie Roy, or the completely unwilling to attempt to defend himself white goalie baby boy?
@lisa: Couldn't be a real MSU fan, our band clearly spells out S-T-A-T-E before every game in order to avoid such gaffes.
On another note: DAMMIT why couldn't we rebound!
@Lizabelle: its even better if you say "doo doo doo doo doo" like homer just before roy gets there... seriously, it's like crack
Yup, he's a Roy.
Poppa Roy celebrated Junior's fight by going home and beating his wife.
@OchentaYcinco: Mississippi Sate is good, but I prefer the spicy lemon grass chicken.
If he wasn't playing Major Juniors, Roy would have a chance to play for Michigan. They could always use someone that's classless. He'd fit right in, probably become the soul of the team.
In case there are any Deadspin commenters who don't follow the Q (right, I know - seems impossible), the best part about this is that his old man was behind the bench and the speculation is that he sent him down to clean house.
@OchentaYcinco: I think you missed the point... The other goalie was simply utilizing the " I am going to hit your fists with my head as many times as possible" attack.
Am I the only one who thought this should have ended with a figure-skating male striptease?
it's safe to assume that he went home later and beat up his mother, correct?
BTW, if this is for the QC Remparts, Roy the Elder owns, GMs, and (I think) coaches the team.
Good genes...[query.nytimes.com]
