And Here We Go Again....Brett Favre-To-Vikings Rumors Get Werder-Ized

Last year's Summer Of Favre hijacked the sports media universe, and this year is shaping up to be more of the same, possibly worse: Yes, Brett Favre is talking to the Vikings.

Snoopin' Ed Werder hears from "sources" that Favre has already reached out to Vikings' coach Brad Childress and expressed interest in bringing his 39-year-old bum arm to Minneapolis for 2009:

Minnesota Vikings head coach Brad Childress and quarterback Brett Favre plan to meet at an undisclosed location later this week to discuss the possibility of the former Packers and Jets quarterback renouncing his retirement from the NFL to play the 2009 season with the Vikings, according to a source with direct knowledge of discussions between the two parties. ...There is a mutual understanding that sometime soon thereafter Favre will decide whether to sign with the Vikings. The team would expect him to participate fully in offseason minicamps and training camps, which he missed last year with the Jets.

Stay tuned for Glazer, Florio, and whoever they got to replace Schefter at NFL.com to come back with their own anonymously-sourced reports to either validate or discredit Ed Werder. Maybe between the three of those guys, we can also find out who the anonymous source was in Selena Roberts' book. Let's motivate, people.
