Deadspin Hall Of Fame Nominations Are Out Next Week
Heavens to murgatroid, folks, it's that time of year again. Next week, voting commences for the 2010 Deadspin Hall Of Fame class commences. Deadspin turns five years old on September 8. How old we've all gotten.
Starting on Monday of next week, I'll be putting up a different candidate for your vote every day, which means that there are five nominees, because there are five weekdays. Here is your opportunity to suggest which sacred souls will strive for immortality. You can leave them in the comments, or you can email me at [email protected]. The Deadspin staff will review them all over the weekend and unleash nomination fury on Monday.
Reminders: This is not Sportshuman of the Year. When considering candidates for the Hall of Fame, you are looking at their career achievements, not necessarily those in the most recent calendar year. Also: It is extremely difficult to be elected to the Hall of Fame: It requires a 75 percent vote. (By this measure, "Was our President born in the United States?" might not make the Hall of Fame. It's a steep climb.) Only the best and most inglorious can receive the honor of a Jim Cooke bronze plaque.
To remind: Here are all the current members of the Deadspin Hall Of Fame and their years of election:
2006 Carl Monday Kyle Orton Clinton Portis Run You Stupid Fucking Dinosaur, Run Renee Thomas And Angela Keathley Viking Sex Boat You're With Me, Leather
2007 Ned
2008 Buzz Bissinger Will Leitch Isiah Thomas Marques Slocum's Fuck Lion
2009 Barbaro Charles Barkley
So send ye forth thy nominations. And I'll see you Monday.
