Samuel L. Jackson Is The New Face Of Liverpool Fans’ Anti- Gillett/Hicks Campaign
A pair of big-hitting movie industry Liverpool fans are rumoured to have roped in Samuel L. Jackson and Mike Myers to front a viral internet campaign of hate against Reds owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett.
Mike Jefferies, who wrote the could-have-been-good-but-wasn't Goal! trilogy, and casting director Dan Hubbard (Bourne Ultimatum, King Kong and, erm "Buying Porn") claim to have brought together Hollywood's most famous Kopites in an attempt to publicly humiliate the American owners.
In an open letter to Tom Hicks on Mirror Football, Jefferies said:
You won't believe who's involved. I've been stunned by terrific reaction of so many celebrity Reds, and many, many fans want to be involved in the film too
It is important to get the message across that the fans want Hicks and Gillett out.
Therefore, I flew up from Cape Town last night to come to Liverpool to make a short film here this weekend in which Liverpool fans and stakeholders will tell Tom Hicks – and the world – what they think of him. We are going to shame him and hit him where it hurts.
Jefferies has called for fans to join him in recording a message of hate at Liverpool's Hope St. Hotel this weekend, and expects the video to be posted to YouTube by Tuesday.
We can't wait.
