Relive Zenyatta's Breathtaking Run
It is with a heavy sigh of relief that we can report Zenyatta did not have to be euthanized following her run in the Breeder's Cup Classic. She finished 2nd, but it was one of the greatest finishes we've ever seen.
Let's pick things up about mid-way through the race, shall we?
We aren't even huge fans of horse racing, and we'd rather not get too treacly or soft-focus-and-tinkly-piano-y, but that is an amazing finish to a race, right? If that race is half a furlong longer—maybe even less—she completes the comeback, right? Or are we just impressed that a lady horse was able to climb all the way back and finish like she did? Questions aside, the race—and Zenyatta—lived up to the hype. Or, as Catherine The Great once said, and we're paraphrasing here, what a fucking horse.
