Last Night's Winner: Donald Sterling, Looking At Those "Beautiful Black Bodies"
Another day, another headlong plunge into the creepy racial and sexual dynamics of Donald Sterling's id. At this point, it's hard to shake the feeling that Sterling goes through life thinking he's perpetually in the back row of a Pussycat Theater.
Here's the latest, via ESPN's J.A. Adande, who got his hands on another round of filings in Elgin Baylor's lawsuit against the Clippers owner:
"While ignoring my suggestions and isolating me from decisions customarily reserved for general managers, the Clippers attempted to place the blame for the team's failures on me," Baylor said in the declaration. "During this same period, players Sam Cassell, Elton Brand and Corey Maggette complained to me that DONALD STERLING would bring women into the locker room after games, while the players were showering, and make comments such as, 'Look at those beautiful black bodies.' I brought this to Sterling's attention, but he continued to bring women into the locker room."
Rich people are hideous. To the long list of skin-crawling things Donald Sterling has said (or is alleged to have said) over the years — "Just evict the bitch"; "Is she one of those black people that stink?"; "It was purely sex for money, money for sex, sex for money, money for sex"; "I want someone who will, you know, let me put it in or who [will] suck on it" — we can now add, "Look at those beautiful black bodies," which is doubly skin-crawling for having been said of a naked Sam Cassell. The only difference between Donald Sterling and your local pervert is that Sterling is rich enough to afford something nicer than a trenchcoat.
