Rick Pitino's one-night sidepiece of an extortonist Karen Cunagin Sypher is scheduled to be sentenced Friday. In a last-ditch effort to stave off punishment, her legal team filed a motion calling for a new trial Thursday. Something about how she didn't sign forms when the FBI says she did.
James Faller II, the investigator for her legal team, said it has uncovered forensic evidence that her signature was "cut and pasted" on a form in which she consented to an interview and polygraph by the FBI. Faller said an expert hired by Sypher's team has concluded that the Sypher's signature was transferred on to the document.
U.S. District Judge Charles R. Simpson III has already rejected a new trial request, though. Something about not presenting new evidence.
