End The NBA Lockout, Before Desmond Mason Films This Shitty Movie
I know he's not technically an active player anymore, but still - he might try to work out for a 10-day-contract instead of this.
But let's step back a second. We don't know that it'll be a shitty movie. Maybe it'll be great, and Mason will conquer celluloid like he could never dominate the hardwood. Let's read a recap before we pass judgment.
"Just Crazy Enough" is a family-friendly comedy about identical twins separated at birth. According to the film's website, one twin becomes a prominent psychiatrist and the other a lifelong mental patient. The psychiatrist ends up swapping places with a twin he knows nothing about.
Former "Saturday Night Live" cast member Chris Kattan will play the lead role.
OK, it's gonna be shitty.
Mason says his role will be "pretty big," a character who "speaks only in cliches and won't hold a normal conversation with anyone." So, a pro athlete, basically.
How did Mason get the job? Apparently he's an accomplished artist, and was asked to design an award for an Oklahoma City film festival. That festival's executive director is the one making "Just Crazy Enough." This is how the business works, people. Ten years in the NBA, and for what? The chance to make Chris Kattan look good?
