Caddy Loses Green Card, Hotel Carpets Are Dirty, Car Bomb Ruins Tee Times: John Daly Reports From The East
John Daly is in New Delhi for the Avantha Masters that will take place later this week. Over the weekend, he played at the Omega Dubai Classic, where he placed 37th. According to his Twitter timeline, the trip's been quite the adventure. Here's a sampling:
Daly's caddy, Peter Van Derriet, later encountered a much bigger problem:
not sure what took longer: the gazillion documents filling out to get a visa or the flight over here! my caddie..that's another story...loses green CARD in grocery store in Dubai. #PeteryourgoingtolovelivinginIndia
Upon arriving in India, both Daly and Van Derriet found their hotel to be somewhat substandard:
my caddie didnt want to walk on this nasty carpet so he put on slippers! ok so—he'll only have to amputate half his foot?! #carpetman http://lockerz.com/s/183378240
This morning, a car bomb exploded not far from Daly's hotel, injuring four people, including the wife of an Israeli diplomat. Daly offered his account of what happened along with the incident's aftermath:
great what is going on in this world!!!! my apt studio shook from the terror attack car bombing near Delhi embassy! Ckn Shite to go out! #nogolftoday
Daly's pants were not harmed by the attack.
