Former Iowa Commit Argues With Fans, Calls Out "Pre Madonnas"
Rodney Coe was four-star recruit who committed to Iowa for 2011, but didn't qualify academically. The plan became to spend two years at Iowa Western Community College before transferring, but even that's not going to smoothly now. You see, Coe is 6'3", 265 pounds, and both the Hawkeyes and his current coach think he'd be better suited as a defensive lineman. But Rodney really wants to be a running back!
On Monday, Coe suffered a Twitter existential crisis, brought on by a meeting with his coach and the never-ending snows of the plains.
Predictably, the whole turned into a mess. Iowa fans blasted Coe, who fought back, culminating in one magnificent malapropism:
@COEsoCOLD27 Rodney ALLREAL Coe @jnolan45 @iowahawkguy yeah I don't like dealing with pre Madonna fans and lame ass reporter guys either #gofuckurself

Coe has backed off his threat to leave Iowa, saying he was just working through some angst, so for all intensive purposes this story is over. But I'm still harping on "pre Madonna." I know that on the internet, garbled idioms are a diamond dozen, so maybe I shouldn't poke fun. But Coe is quickly learning that it's a doggy dog world out there.
