Jim Driver died on Monday, the same day Peyton Manning agreed to terms with Denver. Driver, 1933-2012, led an interesting life. He was a Navy photographer in the Korean War, transferred from Santa Clara Community College because "the curriculum was too liberal," and spent his later years teaching children to ice skate. He sounds like a decent guy, and a big-time Broncos fan. But he was more the Tebow sort, according to the opening paragraph of his obituary in the Columbia Tribune:
James H. "Jim" Driver, 78, of Eagle, Colo., formerly of Columbia, passed away Monday, March 19, 2012, at South Hampton Place in Columbia after a brief illness. An avid Broncos fan, he abhorred Manning and evidently wanted out before a deal was done.
