Jon Hamm To Star In That Disney Movie About Those Pitchers From India The Pirates Signed
According to Deadline Hollywood, the Mad Men star and former Deadspin commenter will play a leading role in the upcoming Disney treatment of . Hamm will play J.B. Bernstein, the real-life sports agent who "discovered" Rinku Singh and Dinesh Patel and got them deals with the Pittsburgh Pirates a few years back even though they had never played baseball.
For those wondering, Patel was released by the Pirates in December 2010, while Singh continues to hang on as a reliever for the West Virginia Power, the Buccos' Class A affiliate in the South Atlantic League. Singh currently has an ERA of 2.66 and a WHIP of 1.328 in 11 appearances this season. Disney being Disney, I'm guessing the film ends when Singh and Patel receive their contracts, since there's no happier way to wrap up any story from the last 20 years that involves the Pirates.
