College In South Carolina Hires Assistant Women's Lacrosse Coach Named Remington Steele
Remington Steele? Remington Steele!
Reader Vince passes along this press release:
GAFFNEY, S.C. – Limestone College and head women's lacrosse coach Scott Tucker have announced that Remington Steele has been named an assistant coach effective immediately.
A 2011 graduate of Limestone College, Steele returns to his alma mater and brings four years of collegiate playing experience along with two years of coaching at the high school level and six years at the youth lacrosse level.
"We are fortunate to add Coach Steele to our women's lacrosse staff for the 2013 season," said Tucker. "Being a Limestone alumnus, we know he has the winning drive and knowledge that will help continue our traditions here.
The Limestone ladies' lax team is a Division II juggernaut, with the nation's best winning percentage and NCAA tournament appearances five years running. Can Remington Steele make this program any better? I don't know: Does the team need assistance from a female private detective? Do they need a dapper Irish con man floating around? Do they need '80s-era sexual tension and workplace dramedy that ushered television to new heights, including but not limited to Moonlighting? I trust we'll soon find out.
Update (3:40 p.m.): Our friends from Inside Lacrosse also point out that Remington Steele, in his college days, was a two-time all- name team member.
