Minor League Hockey Team's Beer-Chugging Intermission Show Results In Fans Puking On The Ice

The Rapid City (S.D.) Rush of the independent Central Hockey League coughed up a brilliant idea for their intermission entertainment Friday night. It was the Rush's annual College Night, so the team's brain trust thought it would be a blast to stage what was billed as The College Olympics. The premise? Select two-person teams from a couple of nearby colleges and have them partake in an on-ice relay event that would delight the capacity crowd of 5,000, or at least those who weren't in the bathroom or waiting in line for a stale hot dog.
Says the :
During a race that included running on the ice, riding on a cooler and spinning around a hockey stick, each of the male students chugged four beers. One student vomited twice and the other male student vomited once, according to spectators. A photo shows one student hunched over with an obvious steady stream of vomit pouring from his mouth.
The Journal quotes a couple of fans who were disgusted by the show. Tim Hill, the Rush's general manager, has been fielding angry phone calls for days. "It was meant to be fun," he said, "but it went completely wrong." Chug a lug!
