Wild Animal Bites Soccer Player Mid-Match
Can animals be idiots? Or maybe we can call Zurich's Loris Benito an idiot for trying to capture the marten—which Wikipedia informs is a wolverine/badger-like animal that feeds on squirrels, rabbits, mice and human digits apparently—during a Swiss Super League match with FC Thun today. He was able to catch him, but he suffered for his heroics: the weasel bit him.
As you can see in the video above (with appropriate musical accompaniment), and elsewhere, it took quite some time to corral the slippery beast and it appears Benito eventually lost hold of him, at which point the only guy wearing gloves—the goalie—caught the marten. It did not deter Zurich, however, which won handily, 4-0.
