BBC Snowboarding Commentators Are A Blast
Ed Leigh and Tim Warwood handle the BBC's snowboarding commentary from Sochi and listening to them call the runs might be more fun than watching the runs themselves. Snowboarding and other X-Games-related sports all seem to have their own weirdo jargon, shouted out by anthropomorphic cans of Mountain Dew, but these two seem to genuinely enjoy themselves.
The two, along with British snowboarder Aimee Fuller, were criticized for excessive homerism during the call of Jenny Jones's bronze medal in slopestyle—Great Britain's first ever medal in a snow event—but their call of the men's halfpipe final today was tremendous. Here's a supercut with all kinds of bizarre similes, allusions and guttural exclamations.
