Here Is A "Loop Video" Of Ken Griffey Jr.'s Perfect Swing For The Hall Of Fame Voter Who Wanted One
MLB.com baseball writer Marty Noble has turned in his Baseball Hall of Fame ballot, and from the deep pool of eligible candidates, he has selected just Ken Griffey Jr. and Jeff Kent. The ballot is ridiculous on its face. Besides the obvious shoo-in Griffey, Noble includes only Kent (and not any of the many other shoo-ins on the ballot) and calls him “the Babe Ruth of second basemen.” The man who didn’t vote for Barry Bonds, Roger Clemens, Mike Piazza, Jeff Bagwell, Curt Schilling, Tim Raines, or Mike Mussina later notes that “the Hall is for the elite, not the exceptional.”
Noble really likes Griffey, and expresses a wish for a very rare item. “I’d like to have a loop video of his swing,” writes Noble, “it was perfect.”
Here at Deadspin, we like to be helpful when we can, and so we have created this loop video—also known as a “GIF”—of Griffey’s swing for Noble.
You’re welcome, Marty. Hit us up with your address at [email protected] and we’ll print this out and send it to you.
