Jakub Voracek Smashed Up His Ferrari
The 23-year-old Flyers winger is uninjured after crashing into a truck, a tree, and finally a telephone pole in an accident in his native Czech Republic this morning.
According to police (as first reported by Czech outlet Sport.cz), Voracek was driving his Ferrari California near his hometown of Kladno, and going too fast to stop when a truck coming the opposite direction tried to turn left. Voracek's car hit the truck and ran off the road, smashing up its front end before coming to a stop against a telephone pole.
Voracek passed a breathalyzer test, and police say alcohol was not a factor. Flyers GM Paul Holmgren said in a statement that he's "fine," and Voracek texted a Courier-Post reporter with this:
"All good. No injuries. That’s good! Can’t talk now. Very busy :) haha"
The car has seen better days. Police suggested the damage will run 3 million Czech crowns, or about $150,000.
