At first glance, this appears to be simply a vocab list for Merseyside Primary Schools. But no.
In the wake of the club's terrible handling of Luis Suarez's racial abuse of an opponent, Liverpool has begun putting its staff through an anti-discrimination educational program. Part of that is this handout, which leaked today, listing a number of words that should be considered "offensive" and "unacceptable." It is a nice sentiment, but I am unable to look at a cold taxonomy of slurs without laughing.
English slang is the best. It's a mix of terms we stopped using 40 years ago, ones that are still acceptable here but not for long, and a few that I think they must have made up just to sound more authentically British for the tourists.
