Luis Suárez Just Scored The Goal Of The Season From 40 Yards Out
Note: Luis Suarez does not "lob" the keeper here when he scores here from eons away on the half volley. This is a flat out smash of a shot. And it was just the first. Suarez scored again in the 29th and 35th minutes, for a first half hat trick against Norwich. Plus, he added a screamer of a free kick in the second half.
That gives him three hat tricks in four games against Norwich, and 11 goals overall (hat tip butthaver). But the headliner is still that first golazo. On that, we agree with Squawka:
Here's a still from the first goal:
While the first of the three was an utterly unstoppable force of nature, his next two were the result of some pretty shitty defending. His second goal came when Suarez sent home a corner redirected by an unmarked Steven Gerrard. Here's a gif of the third:
And while that too was aided by some less-than-interested defending, the preposterous jink that saw Suarez flick the ball around the defender and wallop in the shot again on the half volley was pure class.
The fourth, to (maybe?) cap off an outrageous day, was a free kick that would've been a stunner had we not already witnessed what came before. His four direct free kick goals since the beginning of last season are the most in the Prem over that span. Here's that one in all it's gif'd glory:
