Man Buys Ticket To Game 1 Of World Series For $6 On StubHub
That's right, reader Erik went on StubHub today and purchased a ticket to Game 1 of the World Series at Fenway Park for $6. The seat, located in right field box 97, was listed at $3.00. Presumably the seller screwed up (at the very least) the decimal placement on the listing because the cheapest ticket in that section is now listed at $759.00.
Erik passed along the confirmation email from StubHub that shows the transaction:
50 percent of the cost was thanks to StubHub fees, but we doubt dude cares. He's going to the World Series for less than the cost of a beer in Fenway.
Erik's already printed out the ticket, too, so he should be all set for Wednesday.
What he should really do is resell it at Fenway that night. It would be an incredible profit and there's virtually no way he could screw up the pricing like the original, sad-sack seller.
