St. John of the Cross was a 16th century doctor of mystic theology who was chiefly famous for living a life of poverty, and, according to newadvent.org, being “saved from certain death by the intervention of the Blessed Virgin” twice.

One of his many namesakes, a middle school basketball team out of suburban Chicago, did him proud and won the Suburban Parish League (SPL) with a shot that I can’t say for sure was the product of divine providence but was almost certainly the product of divine providence. Look at this beauty.
