Ohio High School Football Game Cancelled After Bench-Clearing Brawl
Officials cancelled a football game between Garfield Heights (Ohio) and Collinwood High (Ohio) in Garfield Heights Friday night after a cheap shot on the field incited a bench-clearing brawl.
The mess seems to have started with a cheap shot in the third quarter. At 0:15 of the video, the play is dead, but a Collinwood player lays an unnecessary hit on a Garfield player. Garfield players retaliated, more kids from both teams joined in, and the scuffle turned into a huge fight. Judging from the timestamp on the YouTube video, officials only needed a few minutes to decide to cancel the game.
According to FOX 8, police made three arrests, and two people—one of them a football player—were taken to a hospital. Police also reportedly broke up a fight in the stands before the on-field fight.
