...then it's unfortunate that you're wearing #10. It's being reported by profootballtalk.com that Vince Young scored a six on the Wonderlic test. That's six. S-i-x. 6.
Let's ask The Wizard of Odds what that means:
The average score for a player at the combine is 19. The average score overall hundreds of corporations use the Wonderlic is 21. But a score under 10 is an indication of literacy problems. Former Iowa State running back Darren Davis reportedly has the record for lowest score, a 4. Former Florida State kicker Sebastian Janikowski reportedly got a 9.
Again, let me repeat: These are rumors. It might not be true, perhaps a rabig dog ate half his test, maybe Matt Leinart stole his test and erased all his answers... I don't know. I hope it's not true. In fact, I hate to think that there's anyone out there in the world who Sebastian Janikowski is entitled to call 'dumb.' I just don't want to believe it.
By the way, no matter what you've heard, the child that Vince Young is holding in that picture is not his tutor. It's so wrong for you to even suggest that.

hahaha, Vince is stopid
If only it was used in the NBA. Imagine the possab...posiba...possabibl...what might happen.
Hilarious that Vince's score is already on Wikipedia.
The Nasvhille Tennessean also printed the rumor with a headline and everything this morning. So it's probably legit. http://www.tennessean.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20060...
Ouch. He's dumb AND he throws like a girl...
so that's what a u. of texas education gets you.
C'mon, he's a football player at a big time DI school. I'm sure the last time he had to do his own work was when he was in middle school. I'm more surprised that more players don't do that poorly on the Wonderlic.
ANd he'll still understand an offense before Michael Vick. I guess that's the reason Mack Brown stopped coaching him this year.
Looks like Vince is going to have to fire his agent for not getting him prepared for the test. I can't believe he made a six. Good Lord. I think I could make a six if I had to take it left-handed with my eyes closed and New Mexico firing off rounds from his nine in my ear.
I don't know what this test means as evaluating NFL talent, but I can only guess what it means as an indicator of a functioning, literate, "educated" adult in American society. I could not find a full test, but here's brief overview and a sample test: Wonderlic
I just took the abbreviated Wonderlick, and answered 9 of 9 correct with 15 seconds to spare. I would call myself an average person with a college degree. Vince Young is one year short of a college degree, and judging from the lack of stories about his academic prowess, I can only assume he would have gotten one if he stayed in school. Given these scenarios, a degree from the University of Texas is not going to look favorable the next time I meet a Longhorn. I urge you all to take the sample Wonderlick BigTDog has linked to just to show you how fucking stupid Vince Young really is.
Nick, I hope you're not naive enough to think that an athlete's education is equivalent to an average student's education.
I think Nick is pointing out that it's a fucking SIX! Stoned-ass, moronic, foreign-born, didn't-move-to-the-US-until-age-16 Sabastian Janikowski scored a 9
For everyone knocking Texas, you need to understand that Vince Young is not going to graduate. A lot of people are also on the 5-year college plan anyway, so cut the Horns some slack. A six is a pretty bad score though. But then again, the only thing he needs to do is read a defense. He might be a whiz at football but a moron at everything else. Some people are just better at doing some things than others, ya know? That being said, I took a wonderlick test one over the net one time and I remember geting a 49 or something.
He also needs to learn plays in the pros, slickbomb
OK -- This has nothing to do with Vince Young... Frankly, I only want to hear the score of Robert Smith's Wonderlic. I've been listening to this guy on ESPN radio the past couple of nights and he makes me want to vomit. He never answers any questions or provides insight. He just talks in circles. But, he has a fabulous vocabulary, which I'm sure makes him beyond reproach in the minds of most. Someone please prove to me he's the complete idiot I think he is! Didn't this man quit OSU football to concentrate on his studies to get to medschool...and then he leapt to the NFL? I can't blame him for wanting the cash, but Robert Smith continually holds himself out as a man of intelligence and principle. On the radio I can only hear him hold himself out as a man of ignorance and false importance. I admired the Robert Smith who would tell his coaches he needed to study hard to get to medschool. I am disappointed in the Robert Smith who went to the NFL to avoid the rigors of studying hard. <>
The combine made a mistake. Vince's score isn't great, but it's not a 6. Check the same reputable source that started this rumor.
Yeah, who cares, they guy will make millions in the NFL. Why does he need to read?
