Not that I have ties to either team, but watching the Angels/Sox games was quite the experience. You can't help but be moved by what happened tonight with the moments that the Angels took remembering Nick. Very nice to see the Angels get the win and start the healing process.
Does anyone know why Nick Faldo does not participate in The Masters? I don't believe his working for CBS prevents him from playing in it. Has he ever given a reason as to why he stopped playing in it?
Beautiful timing: I come home today and receive some mail. It's "The Rules of Golf" from the USGA. Enclosed with it is a membership offer: $15 for the year. I don't know how they found me, or why, but this weekend, I just may join the USGA.
@Fawn Liebowitz: I think that running refund/owe tally may have steered me towards some questionable tax strategies (even though I'm mostly sure I haven't broken any tax codes).
@Saberhagendaaz: Vive le questionable tax strategies! The cornerstone of the hard working American who earns and keeps paying more and more each year...
@Peter Cavan: Same here. But for me, it was pretty easy. I don't own a house, and I'm single.
@meefer: Me too, but I paid a total of about $45 to Uncle Sam and Chief Illinitwit. Which I'm happy about - it's about right, and I didn't give anyone a no-interest loan on my money.
@DM: It actually isnt looking that way--we are finalizing our Cape plans--which we do every year--on Draft weekend
Rentals are way plentiful this year, and we have a couple free options too. If you are in the area, we still can plan a NorthEast Corridor PP for later on--
I'll be there in absentia--if you all twitter, post freely and often
@Craig Eshericks Mustache: That's the way I look at it too. But it's still annoying b/c all the tax software is red text and bold font negative about it.
@Fawn Liebowitz: Funny thing is, I'm planning to be in Boston the weekend before to see a friend's band play and then stay with him and his family until Sunday.
@meefer: As long as the red text/bold font is using small numbers, it's cool.
@Tully Blanchard Enterprises: Actually, I don't think I've seen that movie. The other I remember hearing "realism!" things about, though, was Ronin. Which, though not much appreciated, was pretty tightly shot and solid.
All right everyone, I'm out for the night. Going to interact with live people for once.
@Fawn Liebowitz: I'm down with it. I'll just make sure not to wear my Mets gear when I'm there. I floated the idea to Sculptor about have a PP at a beer festival. I'm sure there's a few of those around in the country sometime this summer?
I was also talking to Metschick about setting up a PP. Yeah, new found freedom will open up the floodgates.
@Fawn Liebowitz: If I can afford Citi, sure. Drop me a line anytime at aka037205 at gmail and let's see if we can plan something before footbaw season.
By the way, the fire alarm has been silenced and we have movie sign! Tonight's feature is the original Mad Max, featuring Mel Gibson before he went all preachy and goofy.
While I am not worried about my night in, I am wondering why no one seems bothered by the fire alarm bell that's been ringing at the building next to mine for about 10 minutes now. Maybe I should check that out.
@Sculptor?!? I just met her!: The cops just showed up. There's no sign of a fire, and no one from that building is outside. But it's making a hell of a noise, and since my apartment windows are on the same side of the building, it's loud for me too.
@Lizabelle: I tried to talk myself into going, but they're going to be there for a while and probably getting themselves really trashed. I have to go to Stamford tomorrow and I don't want to be tired or hung over when I get there.
@Peter Cavan: If you want some great food in the Stamford-Greenwich area, try Frank's Restaurant/Pizzeria on Putnam Ave in Port Chester just over the Greenwich line. You'll thank me later
@Fawn Liebowitz: I'll ask my girlfriend about it. I'm going up there for Easter dinner with her parents on Sunday and to take a look at her dad's computer. I've been up there a few times but we've never gone out to eat.
@Peter Cavan: Its worth the approx 5 mile road trip to check it out-- If youre in the area fairly often put it on your agenda for the future--you wont be sorry
