<![CDATA[UCF Goes All Klan Rally To Welcome Racism Victims]]> Central Florida hosted the University of Buffalo last night, 51 years after the Bulls were told their black players weren't welcome. How to show respect for these civil rights pioneers? Let's have everyone wear all white!

The story of those 1958 Bulls is a good one, and criminally unremembered until ESPN made it their baby. Buffalo was invited to the Tangerine Bowl in Orlando, but told their two black players wouldn't be allowed to play. So the team turned down the bid, their only bowl invite until last year.

Central Florida honored one of those players, Willie Evans, along with other members of that historic team, with a halftime ceremony. Evans was greeted by 45,000 fans taking part in a "White-Out." Hoods optional, at least.

I know Knights fans were a little cranky and disoriented since this season they weren't allowed to get drunk before noon, but perhaps one of these promotions could have been rescheduled.

<![CDATA[UCF Fans Fight For Their Predawn Drinking]]> Central Florida boosters are used to beginning their tailgating at 7 a.m. New regulations have them up in arms and threatening to boycott the team. What's the new, draconian starting time? An hour later, 8 a.m.

Concerned with fans spending half a day in a parking lot with little to do but drink, the game-day committee bumped the opening of tailgating back to 8, and noon for night games. The regulars are none too pleased.

For years and years, I was the first person at UCF football games," one fan said. "I'm not exaggerating. ... I can't believe they're taking this game-day experience away from me."

A Facebook group opposing the new rule has garnered 1,000 members, and even UCF coach George O'Leary said he plans to protest the changes. Whatever money fans save by not drinking during an ungodly early hour certainly won't be going to the school.

It's not a minor logistical change. It's a huge change," fan Dan Brosen said. " ... People can't do anything about it this year, but I promise they will stop giving to athletics next year."

Congratulations, Central Florida Golden Knights. You're the early favorite for alcoholic college of the year.

<![CDATA[Some Thirsty Folks In Central Florida]]> A key for fans at any college football game is to stay properly hydrated. It's not like they sell beer there or anything, which means you have to sneak in a flask, and when you're drinking that much absinthe, you're gonna need some water. Unfortunately, the new Central Florida stadium forgot about this.

Yes, it was a big pile of parched at Bright House Network Stadium this weekend.

UCF is admitting it made a big mistake for its first game in its new home; not enough water. Concession stands ran out during Saturday's inaugural game and the stadium wasn't built with any water fountains.

Officials said next week's game would be different and that they would triple the amount of water available to fans. They said they never want to see the same situation happen again.

Yes, the new stadium has no drinking fountains, which is totally not good when it's 97 degrees on game day. Frankly, we're surprised the new Buzzsaw stadium didn't have this problem; it seems like something they would do.

<![CDATA[Sure, Coach, I'll Take Some]]>

University of Central Florida basketball head coach has some to give, and he doesn't quite know who to share it with. So he asks. And then, oh, does he give it out.

It's a slight contrast in leadership style from West Virginia's John Beilein, who believes that if you want some, you should probably go find it yourself.
