ok, I'm fairly convinced that Carl Peterson and Herm Edwards are still running our draft. Either that or Pioli has a deal with Boldin in the making. I understand our defense was historically shitty last year, but do we really need more d-linemen after yesterday and free agency?

@mikedrawcar: After recording the fewest sacks in NFL history last year, Pioli can take all the defensive linemen he wants, in my opinion. Although I do wonder who will make up for Gonzalez's production.

BUT- we have talent on D: Tamba Hali, Glenn Dorsey, Jackson from yesterday and whoever the guy was that we got in the 3rd round. Then we have Thomas, Johnson, Vrabel, and Beisel at LB. CB: Flowers, Carr, and right after my first post, we got another!

Meanwhile, we have no TE, and one receiver. I wasn't expecting a huge pick after we didn't get one in the first round, but it'd be nice to pick up someone here at SOME point.

Add to previous: There is a nonstop daisychain of asskissing the New England Patriots for their draft day genius. I mean non fucking stop. Doesn't anyone remember they didn't make the playoffs last year even though they had one of the easiest NFL schedules in the past 10,000 years?

The Patriots genius begins and ends with deaf, dumb and blindly lucking into picking Tom Brady in the sixth round. Without Brady they are absolutely nothing special. Without Brady, Belichick would have been fired five years ago.

Just look at how many playoff appearances Belichick has without Tom Brady as his starting quarterback as opposed to with Brady as his QB.

The bottom line is that one year after coming within a Super Bowl whisker of being considered the greatest NFL team of ALL TIME...the very next year without Brady...the Patriots had neither the talent nor the coaching to even make the playoffs despite playing in a weak division and having a very weak schedule.

And for the life of him Belichick couldn't make an in-game adjustment to stop the freakin' Wildcat. That's some real genius going on there.

@RightSaidFredMiller: Doesn't anyone remember how they barely missed the playoffs to Miami who overachieved, and surprised everyone with their offense? Doesn't anyone remember Brady going down game 1, or any other injuries that took place? No, that'd get in the way.

Without Brady they are absolutely nothing special. I have no idea what I'm talking about, here's some more ranting not worth reading.

Interesting.

The over-the-top lovefest for any decision the Pats make is nauseating, but don't let that cloud your judgement so horribly.
