GSTF Tour Returns ... In Milwaukee!

Well, in all the hullabaloo of the last week, we'd almost forgotten: We have a reading in Milwaukee this week! It had slipped past us, what with all the dumbing-down of America. More »

Announcing The Next Book Tour Stop: Milwaukee!

Remember how we said that even though the first leg of the book tour was over, we'd be adding occasional dates throughout the summer? Well, we're announcing the first one: We're heading to Milwaukee! Thursday, May 8! More »

GSTF Book Tour Stop: Brooklyn, New York

After more than a month on the road, and seemingly endless posts on this site that no one actually read all the way through, the first leg of the God Save The Fan tour came to an end in Brooklyn last night. It's nice to end a tour just a few blocks from your apartment; it makes crawling home far less of an impediment. Full photos of the night right here. More »

One Last Reading, Just Down The Street

We've had a few people ask about the second leg of the book tour. It's basically going to take place this summer, and it will involve baseball games. So, look out, Milwaukee, Cleveland, Atlanta, Minneapolis, Houston, so on: Any time we can get to a game, it will have a reading bundled with it. But tonight, we wrap it up out here in Brooklyn, mere blocks from our apartment. The commute will be a bitch. More »

GSTF Book Tour Stop: New York, New York

After the last month of madness, lunacy and a constantly clicking odometer, we were quite pleased to return to New York last night for the first of our two NYC readings to close this first tour leg out. Unfortunately, nobody took any pictures — or at least nobody sent us any — so instead we decided to just post this circa-2002, pre-Deadspin picture of us and The Balls. (There's actually a rundown of the reading here.) More »

All Readings Should End With Tassels

All right, we're gonna head over to that reading thing now; to remind, it's right here. Because it's only 15 minutes or so from now, we're even gonna let ya know where the after-shindig is. More »

Our Final Two Readings, NYC-Style

After the madness of the last month of our life, the first leg of the God Save The Fan tour ends over the next two nights in beautiful New York City, home of the bastard liberal media and hot dogs made of pig snout. It's Manhattan tonight, and Brooklyn tomorrow, and then we're gonna take a freaking vacation. More »

GSTF Book Tour Stop: Washington, D.C.

As you've surely noticed by the obsessively rigid timestamps on almost every Deadspin post, which are the same every day, we're kind of anal retentive about time. We hate to be late anywhere — in fact, we're usually half an hour early to everything — and our life is meticulously scheduled. It kind of has to be. So when we realized that we were going to be half an hour late to the Georgetown reading last night, we began rapping our head against the Amtrak window repeatedly. It drives us a little more nuts than it might most people. More »

The Last Stop Of The Tour's First Leg

Over the last month, we've been home for about 36 hours. We've hit Tempe, Los Angeles, Alameda, Seattle, Oak Brook, Champaign, St. Peters, Mattoon, Boston and Philadelphia. Tonight, in the Georgetown area of Washington, D.C., we make our last stop before returning to New York for two readings next week. As tired as we might be, we will be kinda sad to go home. More »

GSTF Book Tour Stop: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Last night's book event on the campus of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia did not involve booing, and no one even got mad at us for our snide, cheap comments in the book about Philly fans. We were almost disappointed. Fortunately ... the bar afterwards had Rock Band! More »

At noon ET today, we're doing our first ever chat, at WashingtonPost.com. We bet we can type faster than Simmons. [WashingtonPost.com]

Welcome (Boo!) To (BOO!) Philadelphia (Booooooooo!)

Once again, we remind you of the next reading a mere half hour or so before it starts: We're hitting Daulerio country tonight, good ole Philadelphia. Philadelphia was the first East Coast city this Midwesterner had ever visited, and we've loved it since we were a kid. (We still get goose bumps when we see the Rocky statue. It's true.) And tonight, the neverending tour invades the Brother Love town. More »

GSTF Book Tour Stop: Boston, Massachusetts

Of all our trips on this whirlwind tour, we had a special gift in Boston last night: Someone signing for the deaf! We have perhaps never been more proud than we were when we had the following conversation with the woman signing: More »

Sweet Caroline ... DAH DAH DAH

We gleefully come to you live from Boston, Massachusetts, where, in about 45 minutes, we'll be making an appearance at that New England staple ... Barnes and Noble! More »

GSTF Book Tour Stop: Mattoon, Illinois

We are back in New York City for about 36 hours before hitting the East Coast swing, and we must confess that our stop in Mattoon, pictures of which can be found here, wasn't much like our other appearances. First off, it was in the lobby of a mall; we were right next to a woman selling sheep sweaters and model train sets. This eliminated the need for a reading; Mattoonians would have thought we were from some Christian youth group, we suspect, had we just started talking out loud. More »

GSTF Book Tour Stop: St. Peters, Missouri

We knew we were in for a little different atmosphere at our St. Peter's, Missouri reading when we walked into the store and saw that the sign advertising our appearance had a piece of paper shielding the cover. The sensitive eyes of suburban St. Louis must be protected. Photos found here, if you can take any more. More »

Meet Us In St. Peter's

You know, can you think of a better way to spend your Valentine's Day than at a Barnes and Noble in suburban St. Louis, listening to some guy talk about his sports book? No, right? Well, you're in luck. More »

GSTF Book Tour Stop: Champaign, Illinois

We didn't take many pictures from our reading in Champaign yesterday, so we'll just quickly recap it by saying it's very nice when professors at your old journalism school make their students come to your readings. It thickens the crowd, brings more fascinating questions and, you know, actually assures a female or two will come. So that helps. We had a grand time, though those college students get younger every year. More »
