    I have to say, my enjoyment of the Flyers blown 3-0 lead in Game 6 this year is long gone and forgotten.


    It was a bad year for the Atlantic. (Except maybe the Pens?)

    @Shorty: Yeah we definitely blew two wins against the Pens, no denying that. I don't see how the Pens advance past the Caps unless Fleury goes nuts in goal.

    @Shorty: The Atlantic? What about the Northeast? Except for the Bruins, Habs get swept, Leafs, Sabs and Sens all miss. At least there were 4 teams in the playoffs from that division.

    @Shorty: If you're going to lose, lose big. Thats what drove me crazy about the Isles in the last few years. Striving to make the playoffs, when you know they have no shot at the cup. Now they have the top pick, a lot of good young players, and unlike the Rangers, aren't capped out with role players until 2012.

    @crazyjoedavola: I agree. And I also believe that in the playoffs, if you're going to lose, lose early. It hurts less.


    I would rather my team not make the playoffs than lose in Game 7 of the Cup finals.

    @VTBen: Keep in mind that the Caps got pushed to 7 games by a pretty bad Rangers team, and were actually dominated by the Rangers in the first two periods. Of course, Milhouse could have been in goal for the Capitals and the Rangers wouldn't have scored, but still...

    @Pornstars-for-Wilbon: The caps have performed TERRIBLY against defensively-focused teams this year, though. Losses to Edmonton, Colorado, Columbus. They tend to play down to the level of these teams, so I think the rest of the EC teams are a totally different deal.


    Yet also, Caps defense has some serious adjustments to make for this new offense. yikes.
