    In our infinite wisdom we've discarded Texas Tech based on the sound defeat they suffered at the hands of Oklahoma.

    Yes. 3-way ties do become infinitely simpler when you ignore 1 of the 3.


    I do something similar when I only have two slices of cake to divide between three people. "Hmmm....I discard you. Problem solved!"

    So if Missourah beats Oklahoma, does Texas play for the national championship without winning its own conference title? Because Texas Tech beat Texas. So, uh...yeah.

    @Kid Canada: If the Big XII didn't have a conference championship game (like the Big Televen and Pac-10), then Texas would be a co-champion... just like USC.

    I just don't understand why the Big XII couldn't use the logical tiebreaker the Big Ten has: fewest games against FCS opponents.

    This year it would have been: Texas 0, Oklahoma 1, Texas Tech 2.


    Schedule FBS opponents in non-conference, which can be risky, get rewarded in the end.

    @Yostal: To me, what would have been more logical is for the Big XII to have put a monkey in a room with a Texas, Oklahoma, and TT banner each tacked onto a wall. Whichever banner the monkey throws the most shit on over a 12-hour period should go to the title game.

    And another knock against the current Bowl System? Only Duke and Virginia are not bowl eligible in the ACC. The 2nd worst major conference, and nearly everyone is going bowling. That's not right.

    Meanwhile, I suppose it'll be another Texas-tOSU matchup in the Fiesta. Please, football Jesus, don't send Utah to play us.

    I think he's still celebrating last year's game when Pyongyang University beat Texas 7,429 to -10, capped off by Kim successfully kidnapping the cheerleading squad via a tunnel system underneath the OK-TX DMZ.
