The Frontline would like to meet with Sue and have a polite discussion about this policy. Anywhere but Rome would be just fine.

Back in the olde days of the English game, there were no seats at most grounds. The terraces, as they were called, were standing room only, all adult males and dangerous places to be. You may remember the Hillsborough massacre, which was a combination of a stand collapsing and a stampede of people in a confined space, resulting in many deaths.

As a result, the security at EPL grounds these days is very tight and standing for the duration of the game is frowned upon as a security hazard.

different horses for different courses, of couse. Wouldn't make sense to do this at a Detroit Lions game, or even a Jets game, but in the lower echelons of English soccer, I'll defer to the security staff.
