    I completely understand the O's fans' hatred for Tex. As someone who routinely sends threatening letters to kids that choose rival high schools as opposed to playing for their hometown school I get what its like.

    And on Weds there will be 12,000 fans there. Whoop-dee-do.


    I was at an O's game once a few years ago and when the Yankees lost up in New York, the score was put on the board and they mockingly played "New York, New York," and the fans cheered louder than for anything the O's did that day.


    More than a little sad.

    @J Money BS: I went to an O's/Tribe game at Camden a few years ago with Bosox, we bought $10 tix and moved alllllll the way down to the field along the right field line. I don't know if I've ever had better seats to a game.

    @J Money BS: To be fair, school is still in session, so weekday games are going to be tough to get fans to come out for. By the time school is out, half of the pitching staff will be injured and there won't be much of a chance of recovering. I can't blame the fans though, it's tough to watch your own team lose repeatedly. I just figure I've got a 40% chance of seeing them actually win when I go to a game.

    Supposedly the reason that Camden Yards wasn't full of Yankees jerseys was because in order to get tickets to opening day, you had to buy tickets to like 9 other Orioles games (not against NYY).

    @clipper: Ironically, the Indians are giving away an extra ticket with the purchase of 6-game ticket packs to Progressive Field. It's for a game in June. The opponent: the Yankees.


    The sole purpose of this is apparently going to be to try and keep LeBron from showing up.

    @clipper: You could buy tickets by themselves. The packages just gave a discount on the other games, essentially making one of them free. Besides, it's not unusual for opening day to have some kind of deal or required extra purchase.

    @Father of 2 Future First Rounders: Not once you hit the playoffs and your records are meaningless. Had the Orioles lost one extra game during the season, they still would have taken the wild card spot in 96. However, had the Jeffrey Maier call gone the other way, the Os would have had a 2 games to none lead to start the series and momentum. Even if none of the other games had changed their results, the games played would have only been enough to make the series 3-2 in favor of the Yankees, still a deficit that could be overcome. Just ask the Red Sox.
