    Perhaps you would prefer a trade deadline where a player's expiring contract becomes the most sought-after asset?

    To be fair, that's different - Tampa gave the Leafs a draft pick so they would take Kolzig's salary for the balance of the season. In the NBA, teams want the big expiring contract so they have the cap room for the upcoming year. Basically the Leafs just bought a fourth-rounder from Tampa for the cost of Kolzig's salary instead of writing them a cheque.

    I don't see how being an expert on Radio Free Asia, the United Fisherman of Alaska or Sigrid Hjertén will help out one bit.
