This Is Probably The New Brooklyn Nets Logo
Yesterday, the Nets teased the team's new logo and colors for their Brooklyn move: black, and something shield-shaped. Today, thanks to something less than total secrecy, we get a first look at a very plausible candidate for the logo.
The photo was posted on Twitter by some guy who's doing IT work at the Barclays Center, and Tweeting photos as he goes. We won't link because we don't want him to get fired (he'll probably get fired anyway), but there's no reason to think that logo mounted on an office wall isn't the real thing. Ignore the blue tape.
We like it! It's an update of the Jersey logo, from the word Nets above the ball, all set inside a shield. But it's cleaner, more modern, less cheesy. It also hints that black and white might be the new primary team colors, a major overhaul of the red, white and blue that dates back to the franchise's time as the New Jersey Americans.
