Addison Russell Spills Cardinals Fan's Nachos, Brings Him New Ones As Peace Offering
Screenshot via MLB.tv By the end of the first inning tonight, the Cardinals were down 4-0 to the Cubs. Things only got worse from there. It was clear that fans would not be able to rely on the product on the field to sustain them tonight—they would need to seek not emotional fulfillment, but physical. Like that which can be found in a big ol’ glorious platter of nachos.
Things did not go according to plan for one St. Louis fan who sought relief in said nachos, however. In the bottom of the second, Cubs shortstop Addison Russell came barreling into the stands in an attempt to snare a foul ball. It did not end well for anybody—not Russell, who didn’t make the catch, and certainly not the fan, who watched his snack tumble to an untimely death in the dirt (with some covering Russell’s arm, for good measure).
But! Cry not for our poor nacho-loser! Russell soon returned with new nachos and an opportunity for a selfie. All’s well that ends well.
