San Francisco is widely backed to take the win here, and holds a 3.5-4.5 advantage in the points spread. There’s good reason for that: they’re the league’s only 6-0 team after keeping the Washington Commanders at arm’s length on Monday night for a 23-17 win. Atlanta meanwhile has a 2-4 record and is coming off a 31-23 loss to Chicago, the third defeat in their last four games under new HC Kevin Stefanski. While the Falcons do hold home advantage, the reality is that San Fran has won harder games already and it would be a surprise if they didn’t keep the good times rolling on Sunday.
As for props, a smart place to look would be at Christian McCaffrey, who is arguably the best all-purpose back in the league. He picked up 117 yards from scrimmage against Washington and scored twice on the ground. In this 49ers offense he’s a good bet to pick up a lot of yards and to pay off on an anytime touchdown wager. Given the likely absence of WR Mike Evans, both McCaffrey and George Kittle are likely to be called upon for this game. Falcons passing picks aren’t likely to offer much value even if they look good, given that Michael Penix Jr. has been throwing with a rib injury and may be underpowered here.
