Assessing this game is a tad difficult without knowing the status of Purdy. Given it’s a shoulder injury, I’ll examine this game, assuming he won’t play. If that’s the case, I don’t see how the 49ers cover the spread here.
In Week 12, they scored just 10 points with Brandon Allen under center. Allen completed 17 of 29 passes for 199 yards, a touchdown, and an interception. Running back Christian McCaffrey managed just 11 carries for 31 yards.
The 49ers allowed two passing touchdowns and allowed three in the running back in Week 12 to the Green Bay Packers. Packers running back Josh Jacobs scored all three times and had 106 rushing yards. The Bills average 29.1 points per game, which is third in the NFL. In their last game, the Bills allowed just 78 rushing yards.
In addition, the Bills are coming off a bye week, so everyone should be rested up and recover from their injuries. Again, with Allen under center, I struggle to see how this 49ers team clears 14 points.
The 49ers have allowed three rushing touchdowns to opposing quarterbacks this season, and Allen has scored on the ground in back-to-back games. I’ll take the Bills to cover.
