The Chargers are slight favorites in this game, and I’d take them at -1.5. The Chargers defense has been fantastic this season. They’ve held running backs to just one rushing touchdown and opposing quarterbacks to just one passing score per game.
They’ll have an excellent challenge ahead of them, taking on Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow, who has had nine touchdown passes over the last two games.
It’ll be intriguing to see what side wins out: Burrow’s propensity for passing touchdowns or the Chargers defense. The Chargers allow a league-low 13.1 points per game, but their offense is far from potent.
They average 20.7 points (19th), 117.9 rushing yards (19th), and 196.4 passing yards (22nd) per game. As you can see, that’s barely average. In all, the Chargers coverage unit has allowed just nine touchdowns all season.
Where the Chargers will succeed is on the ground. The Bengals are allowing nearly one rushing touchdown per game. Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert has also taken care of the ball this season with just one interception.
Look for this to be a lower-scoring game. I’d take the under and the Chargers -1.5. They’ll win by a field goal.
