One of the key things to note about this game is that it’s expected to be a very tight contest. Cleveland is narrowly favored with a 1.5 spread – about as close as it gets – while the total points market sits at 36.5. That makes the mean result here a Cleveland win with neither team scoring 20 points. That wouldn’t be a huge surprise: the Browns share the lead for the AFC North with a 4-2 record and has been grinding out wins, a 13-10 home success over Baltimore being the most recent. QB Deshaun Watson, whose selection for the starting job was greeted with little enthusiasm, has been showing something resembling starting QB form.
The Titans meanwhile finally got their first win of the season by knocking off the Indianapolis Colts 26-20, so they come into this home game with a considerable weight off the shoulders. But given that Indy has been far from impressive this season, there should be huge caveats over whether that win means the Titans are back in any meaningful sense. Winning here would be a sign that things really are on the upturn, but they have it all to do if they are to find a W over a team that has demonstrated the ability to win ugly (which is just as well, because their ability to win pretty is still very much in doubt).
