Bill Simmons's New Site Has A Name And Some New Hires
Bill Simmons’s new website will be called The Ringer, CNN’s Brian Stelter reported today. It’ll also bring in a bunch of people from Grantland.
Simmons’s new venture had already hired a few of his former employees before it settled on a name. Sean Fennessey came in as editor-in-chief; Chris Ryan was named executive editor; Juliet Litman signed on as managing editor; and Mallory Rubin became the deputy editor. With today’s announcement comes the hiring of eight new people. Seven of them previously worked at Grantland:
The Ringer plans to start as a newsletter in March before a full site launch later this year.
